Questions?
Finding the right designer can be a difficult process, so we've answered some questions you might have to make things a bit easier.

If you can't find your question here, please drop us a line and we'll answer it pronto!

Are you just a bunch of crazy cat people?

No, we're surprisingly normal ‒ but we're a bit concerned about this lady.

I see you're based in Australia, but I live in the picturesque French coastal town of Trouville Sur Mer. Can you still help me with a design?

Firstly, we hate you just a little bit. Secondly, yes! As long as you have an internet connection (and if you're reading this, it probably means you do), we can ‒ and do ‒ help anyone in the world. Vive la variety!

Do I have to pay before the job can be started?

All projects require a 50% non-refundable deposit before commencing, unless prior arrangements have been made. The remaining balance will be invoiced upon completion of the work. Completed/high-resolution artwork will not be delivered until the full balance has been paid. If additional charges need to be incurred (e.g. stock photography), you will be notified by email in advance.

How do I send content needed for inclusion in my artwork?

Artwork, text or multimedia can be sent by:
  • Email ‒ Up to 10MB
  • Smash ‒ For files larger than 10MB (free, no signup required, and no file size limit)

What file formats does Catnip accept?

In addition to high resolution JPEGs, PNGs, and PDFs (preferred), we accept files created in any of the following software:
  • Adobe Illustrator ‒ Please change fonts to outlines
  • Adobe Photoshop ‒ Please render all font layers
  • Adobe InDesign
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft PowerPoint
If you have any other technical queries, please contact us and we'll happily answer them for you.

I've approved my artwork. When will I receive the high resolution version?

When you approve your artwork, we'll email you an invoice. Once we receive your payment, we will email the hi-res artwork to you within 24 hours.

I'm not happy with the artwork I received. What can you do to fix it?

No problem! We offer a satisfaction guarantee ‒ just drop us an email and describe exactly what you need changed and we'll get it right for you. Please be as specific as possible so we can serve you better.

What forms of payment do you accept? And how much time do I have to pay my invoice?

Our forms of payment include:
  • For Australian Clients: Direct Deposit OR Credit/Debit Card (via the secure facilities of Stripe).
  • For International Clients: Credit/Debit Card (via the secure facilities of Stripe) OR PayPal.
PayPal users please note that Credit/Debit Card payments will incur a 2.9% (US) or 3.9% (International) PayPal surcharge. Please add this percentage to your payment (the revised amount will be stated on your invoice).

Payment is due upon receipt of invoice, unless other arrangements have been made. There is a finance charge of 1.5% per month (18% annually) on all overdue balances. Failure to pay invoice after 180 days will result in debt collection at your expense.

Do I get to keep the artwork I pay for?

Yes, of course! The artwork and its copyright is transferred to you upon payment, to use at your discretion in any way you wish.

Can you give me a copy of the fonts used in my artwork?

Unfortunately, no. All fonts are copyrighted and cannot be freely distributed. We can, however, give you the names of the fonts in your artwork so you can purchase them online or advise other agencies on correct fonts to use for your branding.

How do I find a printer?

Catnip uses only the best quality, most affordable affiliates to hand your work over to, so you don't have to worry about anything. However, we also offer the flexibility of choosing your own trusted printer if you prefer. Regardless of what you choose, Catnip will provide any support required until the job is output to your satisfaction.

What does “catnip” mean, anyway?

Catnip (or nepeta cataria) is an aromatic herb, sometimes placed in cat toys, which acts as a drug for felines ‒ one sniff and they’ll be bouncing off the walls.

We know you’ll find Catnip’s service equally addictive!
